About Us

Mission

The mission of Z.A.P. Bas-Saint-Laurent is to create a regional zone of communication and wireless information network so that high private or public traffic areas where people may be lodging, walking by or waiting can enjoy free, simple, wireless access to the Internet. Z.A.P. Bas-Saint-Laurent is concerned about improving the personal and professional quality of life of people who live, work or visit the area. The Lower St. Lawrence region will be the first to offer such free public wireless Internet access zones in Quebec.

Structure

Created in January 2009, Z.A.P. Bas-Saint-Laurent is a non-profit organization managed and operated by volunteers, a structure that allows us to keep our management and service costs to a minimum. Our volunteers are passionate individuals willing to share their expertise and knowledge to optimize the use of existing infrastructures in collaboration with various companies, organizations, institutions and municipalities in the area.

Objective

To support the development of regional communities, it is essential that existing infrastructures already offering Internet access be made available to everyone. Our objective is providing residents as well as visitors a way to better communicate with others, better promote their products and services and better serve their customers. To this end, we provide installation services so that public wireless Internet access zones can provide service to any user, free of charge.
